MEET OUR COACHES
Training opportunities and private lessons are now available with some of Austin’s best coaches.
Coach Jerry “J.T.” Taylor is a former University of Texas baseball standout, who played for coach Cliff Gustafson and was drafted in 1995 by the Cleveland Indians. J.T. now spends his time teaching the finer points of hitting and defensive skills to baseball and softball players in Central Texas, at Austin’s premier air-conditioned batting cage facility, The Bat Cave. Private lessons for hitting, fielding and catching are available.
Brittney is a current professional and Olympic strength coach. She has worked at the collegiate level, and currently works with Austin Juniors Volleyball and trains athletes from ages 10-18. She prides her business on developing a strong fundamental background with her athletes in order to maximize their strength and performance.
Coach Ducroz has been with Helix Elite since 2007 and has also been a strength coach at University of Texas (2010-2012), Purdue University (2012-2013), and University of Houston (2013-2014). She has also been the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the British Diving team since 2014. She has helped her athletes achieve their goals and even win some major awards, such as:
- 11 Olympic Medals (1 Gold, 8 Silver, 2 Bronze)
- 2 Big 10 Personal Best in 100m and 200m Breast Stroke
- 1 NCAA Volleyball National Championship
- 3 Super Bowl Championships
- 3 Gold, 3 Silver Commonwealth Games Medals
- 2 World Championship Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals

Hitting, Pitching & Catching
Zoe Bacon, a 2015 Lake Travis softball alumni, is the all-time leader in career home runs and the all-time leader in wins and strikeouts as a pitcher.
A 4 year varsity starting pitcher at LT, she has 4 time All-District accolades and was a 4 time team MVP. She was awarded the CenTex Newcomer of the Year after her freshman season in 2012. She was the Pitcher of the District in 2012 and 2015 and she earned All CenTex honors in 2013 and 2015.
During her senior season she hit 5 home runs in 5 consecutive at bats to break the National High School Softball record for consecutive home runs. Bacon was All-State and a TGSA All-Star athlete in 2015.
During her sophomore year of high school, she accepted a full-ride softball scholarship to UTSA. A back injury in the fall of her sophomore year at UTSA resulted in a medical redshirt season. After unsuccessful rehabilitation attempts, she was forced to retire fall of 2017.
Now, Bacon coaches elite-level, hitting, pitching and catching lessons at the Bat Cave.

Hitting Fielding, Pitching & Catching
Ricky is a 2014 graduate of Dripping Springs High School, where he was a three-year letterman for the Tiger Baseball Team, and a four-year letterman for the Tiger Cross Country Team. He spent many hours under the instruction of our own J.T. Taylor since age 8 and has absorbed many mannerisms of teaching the game from him. Ricky is a former Outfielder/Pitcher for the Schreiner University Baseball Team. He graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. Ricky was honored with the distinction of being the first, four year, two-sport NCAA athlete in Schreiner University History. Ricky spent his summers in the Centex Collegiate Baseball League, where he served as team captain of the Austin Expos. He has been training athletes since 2014.

Hitting, Fielding, & Catching
Haley is a 2017 graduate of Dripping Springs High School, where she was a four year varsity starter and four-hole hitter. Haley started playing select softball at the age of nine. At the age of twelve she started taking private hitting lessons with JT. Some of Haley’s high school accomplishments include: 2014 All-District Honorable Mention ( avg: .386, OBP: .420, HR:2 ,RBI:22), 2015 2nd Team All-District, 2016 1st Team All-District, 2016 Offensive MVP, 2017 1st Team All-District, 2017 Defensive MVP. Senior year the HS team went to state play-offs, taking second place in the semi finals. Haley was one of six Hays County players who made up the South Team for the 2017 Austin Area Softball All-Star game. She received the Golden Glove Award for the South Team. Haley received a full scholarship to Ranger College as a catcher and power hitter.
